Two new calls are now opened for attracting researchers to the Basque Country
Ikerbasque, the Basque Foundation for Science, has opened two new international calls offering 20 permanent positions to senior researchers and 20 more five-year contracts for research staff.The Research Professor call is directed to researchers who finished their PhD before 2008 and have a solid research track and international experience. Selected researchers will have the opportunity of a permanent position in any Basque Research Institution.
An external evaluation committe -composed of members of the international scientific community- will evaluate the applications in two separate groups: one for the applications received until March the 31st, and another for the ones received until September the 30th.
On the other hand, the Reseach Fellows call, opened for the first time, is directed to the ones who have finished their PhD before 2010, and it offers a five year contract, while researchers in their 4th year can apply for the Ikerbasque Research Professor call to be eligible for a permanent position. Applications may be submited until March the 31st.
To date Ikerbasque has hired 180 researchers from over 20 countries who study all knowledge areas. They have joined Basque Universities and Research Institutions.
